Eres Una Persona Buena


¿Te consideras una Buena Persona? La mayoría de la gente lo hace. Sin embargo, muchos diferimos al definir la palabra "bueno". La Biblia dice que Dios es bueno, y los Diez Mandamientos son Su estándar de bondad. Así que, examinemos la Ley de Dios... Con una conciencia sensible, pregúntate si has obedecido lo siguiente:

 

 

 

1-No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí.(¿Has amado siempre a Dios,más que todo lo demás?)

2 - No te harás imagen.
(¿Te has hecho mentalmente un dios con el que te sientes más cómodo(a), uno que te conviene?)

3 - No tomarás el nombre de Jehová tu Dios en vano. (¿Alguna vez has usado el nombre santo de Dios para maldecir?)

4 - Acuérdate del día de reposo para santificarlo.

5 - Honra a tu padre y a tu madre.

6 - No matarás. (Dios considera que odiar es lo mismo que asesinar).

7 - No cometerás adulterio. (Mateo 5:27-28 "Cualquiera que mira a una mujer para codiciarla, ya adulteró con ella en su corazón"; esto incluye también las relaciones sexuales antes del matrimonio).

8 - No hurtarás. (¿Alguna vez has robado algo? - el valor del objeto no es lo importante).

9 - No hablarás falso testimonio. (¿Has mentido aunque sea una vez? Incluso, al responder estas preguntas).

10 - No codiciarás. (¿Alguna vez has deseado con envidia lo que otros tienen?)


La Biblia dice que Dios castigará a los homicidas, violadores, ladrones, mentirosos, adúlteros, etc. Él juzgará incluso nuestras palabras y pensamientos. En el Día del Juicio, ¿te declararán culpable o inocente de violar Sus mandamientos?

Puesto que Dios es bueno, tal vez pienses que pasará por alto tus pecados. Pero, es precisamente por Su bondad que Él se asegurará de que los homicidas, violadores, ladrones, mentirosos, etc., reciban justicia. Él sería un Juez corrupto si pretendiera no ver la injusticia. ¿Has cumplido tú los mandamientos? La Biblia dice que la Ley es perfecta. Y ésta ordena que tú seas perfecto(a) (Mateo 5:48). ¿Eres perfecto(a) (en pensamiento, palabra y acción)? ¿Irás al cielo?

Tú puedes decir que eres bueno(a), pero Dios dice que no lo eres (lee Salmos 14:2-3). Así que, uno de los dos está mintiendo, y la Biblia nos dice que Dios no puede mentir. Recuerda que todos los mentirosos serán lanzados al lago de fuego (Apocalipsis 21:8). La Ley de Dios demanda justicia, y el castigo por pecar contra Él es la muerte y el infierno. Presta atención si quieres vivir.

Dios mismo proveyó un medio en el que mostró a la vez Su justicia y Su bondad. Nosotros violamos la Ley, pero Él se hizo hombre para pagar el castigo. Jesús sufrió y murió en la cruz para satisfacer lo que la Ley demandaba. ¡Dios puede perdonarnos y concedernos el regalo de la vida eterna! Pero, quizá todavía pienses que tú puedes (de ahora en adelante) cumplir los Diez Mandamientos. Sin embargo, ¿no es cierto que los mejores entre nosotros hemos mentido, robado, sentido lujuria, odiado, y no hemos amado a Dios sobre todas las cosas, o a nuestro prójimo como a nosotros mismos? Entonces, ¿cómo podemos vivir como personas "buenas" si ya hemos pecado contra Dios? A lo más, somos mentirosos y ladrones reformados... pero aún hemos quebrantado la Ley.

Piensa en esto - ¿venderías uno de tus ojos por un millón de dólares? ¿Venderías ambos por 50 millones de dólares? Tus ojos son invalorables, pero son tan solo las ventanas de tu alma. Entonces, ¿cuánto costará tu vida (alma)?

Teniendo esto en mente, ¿cuál sería un precio justo que podría pagarse por la vida eterna? En verdad, no tiene precio. Sin embargo, si confiamos en nuestra propia bondad para entrar en el cielo, le estamos diciendo a Dios: "Yo debería entrar en el cielo porque he hecho el bien - me he ganado la entrada". Imagina qué pasaría si quisieras regalarme un carro nuevo (muy costoso), pero yo te dijera: "¡No puedo recibirlo! Me da vergüenza recibir un regalo así... mira, te doy 10 centavos por él". Seguramente te ofendería un ofrecimiento de pago tan absurdo. Además, si pago por él, ya no es un regalo sino una compra... es mío por derecho.

Cuando hablamos de entrar en el cielo por ser buenos, o tratando de cumplir los Diez Mandamientos, etc., le estamos lanzando a Dios 10 centavos de "justicia propia", que, al considerar Su sacrificio, es un terrible insulto para Él. Lo único que podemos hacer es humillarnos, arrepentirnos de nuestros pecados, y recibir el regalo poniendo nuestra fe sólo en Jesucristo. Cuando Jesús sufrió por ti en la cruz y resucitó al tercer día, Dios todopoderoso demostró cuánto te ama. Si quieres confiar en tu bondad, estás afirmando que Su muerte agonizante en la cruz fue en vano. La Biblia dice: "Porque por gracia sois salvos por medio de la fe; y esto no de vosotros, pues es don de Dios". Tú no puedes ganarte un regalo. Cuando Jesús dijo que creyéramos en Él, quiso decir que debíamos tener fe en Él, así como confías que el paracaídas te salvará cuando saltas del avión. Tú no puedes simplemente creer en el paracaídas - tienes que ponértelo.

Te ruego que no "saltes" sin Jesús. Si mueres sin haberte arrepentido de tus pecados, no habrá una segunda oportunidad. Enfrentarás la justicia de Dios y terminarás en el infierno para siempre. Cualquier problema que tengas ahora es insignificante en comparación con el problema en que estás frente a tu Creador. Su ira está sobre ti (Juan 3:36). Dios no quiere que vayas al infierno. Y tú tampoco quieres ir a ese lugar. Así que, confiesa tus pecados a Dios ahora mismo, cree que Jesús puede salvarte, y pasarás de muerte a vida. Luego, lee la Biblia cada día y obedece lo que leas en ella. (Mira lo que dice Juan 14:21). Tu obediencia a Dios es la prueba de tu amor. Ten fe en Dios. Él nunca te fallará.

Haz una oración similar a esta: "Amado Dios, hoy quiero dejar atrás todos mis pecados (menciónalos). En este día pongo mi fe en Jesucristo como mi Señor y Salvador. Sólo por medio de Él puedo tener salvación. Él es 'el camino, la verdad y la vida'. Te ruego que me perdones, transforma mi corazón y dame Tu regalo de la vida eterna. Te lo pido en el nombre de Jesús. Amén".

Are You A Good Person?

Eres Una Persona Buena

 

Do you consider yourself to be a Good Person? Most people do. However, most of us differ as to the definition of "good." The Bible says that God is good, and the Ten Commandments are His standard of goodness. So, we will look at God's Law . . . With a tender conscience, ask yourself if you have obeyed the following:

 

 


 

1 - You shall have no other gods before Me. (Have you always loved God above all else?)

2 - You shall not make yourself an idol.
(Have you made a god in your mind that you're more comfortable with, a god to suit yourself?)

3 - You shall not take God's name in vain. (Have you ever used God's holy Name as a cuss word?)

4 - Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy.

5 - Honor your father and mother.

6 - You shall not murder. (God considers hatred to be as murder).

7 - You shall not commit adultery. (Matthew 5:27-28 "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart"; this also includes sex before marriage.)

8 - You shall not steal. (Have you ever stolen anything? The value of the item is irrelevant.)

9 - You shall not lie. (Have you lied even once? Including answering these questions.)

10 - You shall not covet. (Have you ever jealously desired what belongs to others?)


The Bible says that God will punish all murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, etc. He will even judge our words and thoughts. On Judgment Day, will you be found to be guilty or innocent of breaking His commandments?

Perhaps you think that God is good, and will therefore overlook your sins. But it is His goodness that will make sure that murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, etc. receive justice. He would be a corrupt Judge if He turned a blind eye to injustice. Have you kept the Commandments?

The Bible says that the Law is perfect. It commands you to be perfect (Matthew 5:48). Are you perfect (in thought, word, and deed)? Will you make it to Heaven? You may say that you are still good, but God says you're not (see Psalm 14:2-3). So one of you is lying, and the Scriptures tell us that it is impossible for God to lie. Remember that all liars will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8). God's Law demands justice, and the penalty for sinning against Him is death and Hell. Listen carefully if you want to live.

God Himself made a way where His justice and His goodness could meet. We broke the Law, but He became a man to pay the fine. Jesus suffered and died on the cross to satisfy the Law. God can forgive us and grant us the gift of everlasting life! But you may still think that you can (from now on) keep the Ten Commandments. But isn't it true that the best of us have lied, stolen, lusted, hated, failed to love God above all else, and failed to love our neighbor as ourselves?

How can we then, live a "good" life if we have already sinned against God? At best we are reformed liars and thieves . . . but still Lawbreakers. Think of it this way - would you sell one of your eyes for a million dollars? Would you sell both for $50 million? I'm sure you wouldn't. Your eyes are priceless, yet they are merely the windows of your soul. What then must your life (soul) be worth? With these thoughts in mind, what would be a fair price to pay for everlasting life? It is utterly without price. Yet, if we trust in our own goodness to enter Heaven, we are saying to God, "I should enter Heaven because I have done good - I have earned my way in."

Imagine if you wanted to give me a brand new (very expensive) car, but I said, "I can't take it! I feel embarrassed receiving such a gift . . . here's 10 cents for it." I'm sure you would be very insulted by such a pathetic offer of payment. Besides, if I pay for it, it is no longer a gift, it's a purchase . . . it's mine by right.

When we talk of entering Heaven by being good, by trying to keep the Ten Commandments etc., we are tossing God 10 cents of "self-righteousness," which is a terrible insult to Him, in the light of His sacrifice. The only thing we can do is humble ourselves, repent of our sins, and receive the gift by trusting Jesus Christ alone. Almighty God demonstrated how much He loves you when Jesus suffered for you on the cross. If you want to trust in your own goodness, then you are saying His agonizing death on the cross was in vain. The Bible says, "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." You cannot earn a gift.

When Jesus said to "believe" on Him, He was saying we should have faith in Him, in the same way you would trust a parachute to save you when you jump from a plane. You don't merely believe in the parachute - you put it on. Please don't "jump" without Jesus. If you die in your sins there is no second chance. God will give you justice, and you will end up in Hell forever. Any troubles you have at present are dwarfed by the trouble you are in with your Creator. His wrath abides upon you (John 3:36). God doesn't want you to go to Hell. Neither do you want to go there, so confess your sins to God right now, put your trust in Jesus to save you, and you will pass from death to life. Then read the Bible daily and obey what you read. (See John 14:21). Your obedience to God is the proof of your love. Have faith in God, He will never fail you.

Pray something like this: "Dear God, today I turn away from all of my sins (name them). This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the only way for me to be saved. He is 'The way, the truth, and the life.'" Please forgive me, change my heart, and grant me Your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen."
